BOEM È NELLA 4° TAPPA DEL TOUR OF AUSTRIA |

Migliorano giorno dopo giorno le prestazioni del #Greenteam
al Tour of Austria. Dopo l’11° posto di ieri in salita di Donato
De Ieso, oggi nella 4° Tappa da Kitzbuhel a Matrei per 172km,
la squadra italiana si è messa in luce prima con Marco Canola
a lungo in fuga e poi nello sprint finale dove Nicola Boem
ha chiuso in ottima 5° posizione.
CRONACA
La tappa partiva sotto un’intensa pioggia e sulle salite poste nei primi
chilometri se ne andavano tre atleti: Marco Canola,
Polianski (TCS) e Minnaard (WGG). La fuga acquisiva un discreto
vantaggio nel tratto centrale, arrivando a più di 3:10 minuti dopo 70km
dal via. Dietro però il Team SKY e la Cannondale acceleravano a metà
tappa iniziando a far scendere il gap. Sull’ultimo GPM di 2° categoria a
58km dall’arrivo Minnaard si staccava. Canola e
Polianski proseguivano a tutta verso l’arrivo ma il ritorno del gruppo
frazionato, era inesorabile e purtroppo riprendeva i due fuggitivi a
soli 5km dall’arrivo di Matrei.
Sul rettilineo finale a vincere la volata era nuovamente Oscar Gatto
(CAN) che faceva il bis dopo il successo nella 2° frazione.
Nicola Boem provava ad anticipare lo sprint ma veniva chiuso e
conquistava solamente la 5° posizione, sfiorando comunque il podio di
giornata.

Nicola Boem:”
Mirko Rossato, Direttore Sportivo:”Oggi ci abbiamo
provato nei due modi possibili. Con Canola che entrando in fuga è stato
ripreso a pochi chilometri dall’arrivo e poi Boem che ha tentato la
carta della sorpresa nello sprint finale. Entrambi sono stati molto
bravi e soprattutto hanno dato un segnale concreto di crescita di
condizione. Mi aspetto ora che anche gli altri compagni di squadra diano
delle risposte di qui alla conclusione di Vienna. Domani infatti ci
riproveremo sicuramente”.
PROSSIMA TAPPA
Domani è il programma la 5° Tappa del Tour of Austria che da Matrei
arriverà a St. Johann / Alpendorf dopo 146.5km. Il profilo altimetrico
presenta tre salite di cui una horse categorie a metà tappa. Arrivo
posto in cima ad un breve strappo. |

Day after day #Greenteam improves its performance at
Tour of Austria. After the 11th of De Ieso in yesterday
mountain finish, today in Stage 4 from Kitzbuhel to Matrei of 172k, the
young italian squad sent in the early breakaway Giro d’Italia stage
winner Marco Canola and in the final sprint
Nicola Boem took a good 5th place.
REPORT
The stage started under the rain and during the first climbs three
riders pulled away: Marco Canola, Polianski (TCS) and
Minnaard (WGG). The escapees gained till 3:10 minutes after 70km but
behind the pack managed by Team SKY and Cannondale, started to raise the
pace in the central part. With 58km to go during a 2nd category uphill
Minnaard dropped. Canola and Polianski continued to
push strong but with only 5km to the finish line were caught by the
first part of peloton splitted in several parts. The sprint for stage
victory was won by italian Oscar Gatto (CAN) that took his second
success at Tour of Austria after the Stage 2. Nicola Boem
tried to anticipate all but he was closed and he didn’t go beyond the
5th place, arriving however close to the podium.

REACTIONS
Mirko Rossato, Sport Director:”Today we tried in
all the way to get the stage. With Canola that went inside the break of
the day and then with Boem who tried to surprise all in the final
sprint. Both made a solid performance, giving strong signal of growth.
Now I want something similar from the other riders. They still have four
stages before the finale in Vienna to do it”.
NEXT STAGE
Tomorrow is scheduled the Stage 5 from Matrei to St. Johann / Alpendorf
after 146.5km. The route presents three climbs, one .HC in the central
part. The arrival is set atop a brief uphill. |
